New AeroData Runway Analysis Service for Business Aviation

IMAGEFltPlan.com now offers integrated runway analysis service from AeroData. The AeroData runway analysis service offers full integration of takeoff and landing data within the FltPlan.com platform — so the user can perform runway calculations while they’re creating their flight plan on FltPlan.com. Plans are available with or without obstacle clearance verification. Tailored performance data allows crews to maximize the performance of the aircraft while also assuring compliance with runway and obstacle requirements. Features include concise engine–out escape procedures that factor in obstacles and terrain, the ability to specifically configure takeoff–and–landing data based on conditions and limitations, automatic flight plan–based fuel requirement calculations, integration with the Garmin Pilot™ app and much more.

AeroData is one of the largest providers of aircraft performance calculations for commercial airlines and serves over 135 airlines globally. The integration brings AeroData into business aviation, giving pilots the ability to include information and calculations directly in the flight planning stage, saving valuable time and helping to increase accuracy.

The service is currently offered for a select group of aircraft with plans to add more business aircraft types in the future. Check here to see if your aircraft is currently supported. If your aircraft type is not listed, please contact us, as we are working to extend coverage to additional models.

IMAGEAeroData joins Aircraft Performance Group (APG) and Automated Systems in Aircraft Performance (ASAP) runway analysis services available from FltPlan.com. All three of these runway analysis offerings through FltPlan.com eliminates the need for pilots to reference manuals and perform their own manual calculations, ultimately resulting in time savings and more accurate performance numbers.

IMAGEGraphical Airspace and Obstacle NOTAMs Added to
Garmin Pilot v.10.3

IMAGEThe latest release of Garmin Pilot for Apple® mobile devices (v.10.3) introduces the option to reference graphical airspace and obstacle NOTAMs during preflight planning and for increased situational awareness inflight. Airspace NOTAMS are color coded depending on the NOTAM type and can be depicted in various shapes on the map. Obstacle NOTAMs use pink obstacle figures on the map in order to differentiate obstacle NOTAMs from permanent obstacles. Additional features include a new quick access bar in the Flight Profile View, allowing pilots to display critical flight information such as weather, PIREPs and traffic from compatible Garmin ADS–B traffic sources with just a single touch.

For new customers, Garmin Pilot is available on the App Store® as a free download for the first 30 days. Check out our video on these new features.
