Navlog Refresh: A New Look with the Option to File
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancements, we’re pleased to introduce a refresh of the FltPlan.com navlog. Launching Oct. 4, the refresh focuses on easier access to key features and adds a new file option that allows you to file your flight plan directly from the navlog page with a single click. Located on the page’s top right, the new buttons and their functionality are as follows: New: Saves the current flight plan and creates a new one with the arrival as the departure. File: Saves the current flight plan and cues it to be filed 2 hours in advance of departure. Save: The flight plan saves and returns you to the Main Menu (previously “Save and Return to Main Menu”). ICAO FPL: View the flight plan in ICAO format (previously at the bottom of the navlog). View Maps: Displays the appropriate map layer based upon the flight plan, including sectionals, Victor charts below FL 180 or Jet charts above FL 180. Winds Aloft: View the winds for the flight (previously at the bottom of the navlog). Exit: Brings you back to the Flight Plan Creation page to make edits (previously the “Back” button). Garmin Pilot™: Sends an email with the flight plan in a link. You can view the email on your compatible iPad® device, tap the link and it will open the Garmin Pilot app automatically, allowing you to either load as the Active Route or load to Standby Route (previously at the bottom of the navlog). Garmin FPL/Dynon FPL: Exports the flight plan in the Garmin .fpl file format that can be downloaded to an SD™ card and transferred to the avionics. For users with Dynon Avionics, a .gpx file will be downloaded for transfer (previously at the bottom of the navlog). For support, please reach out to our team at Support@FltPlan.com or call 1-800-FLT-PLAN.

Flying to NBAA? Make it easier with PDCs, Data Comm and Flight Tracking from FltPlan.
With the FltPlan PDC premium service, jets and turboprops without a datalink can receive text clearances issued for IFR flight plans. They are available at 70 airports throughout the U.S., including LAS, and include the following: •Your filed route •Any amendments to your route •Your cleared altitude •Your transponder code •Your departure frequency •Any special instructions PDCs will serve as your ATC clearance and will be generated approximately 25 to 30 minutes prior to the filed departure time. Once issued, it will be forwarded to FltPlan, and a “PDC Available” message will automatically display on your Active Flight Plan List on FltPlan.com. These messages can be distributed via email or text — as set up in your FltPlan account under the User/Pilot Info section — and can also be seen through the Garmin Pilot app. The FAA’s Data Comm service is also available and includes en route and terminal airspace communications with the addition of en route CPDLC locations. Pilots who are flying compatible Garmin equipped aircraft can send their flight information to air traffic control from the flight deck. Controllers respond via digital text messages with route details, departure clearance information and approvals. At select airports where CPDLC–DCL service is not available, our pre-departure clearance (PDC) service sends your clearance via text message (SMS) or email to a portable electronic device, such as a cellphone or tablet. PDCs are included in the FAA Data Comm subscription at no additional charge. In addition, we also have free and Premium Flight Tracking services for tracking blocked and unblocked aircraft. Our free service allows notifications for up to two unblocked aircraft, and the premium version allows tracking for blocked aircraft within your account with up to 20 different lines for email/text notifications. To learn more, visit our PDC, FAA Data Comm and Flight Tracking information pages.
