FltPlan.com’s SMS continues to expand its features to meet the unique needs of both large and small operators. Based on input from our SMS customers, we now offer two options for creating and submitting risk/hazard reports: a full report and a quick report wizard.

While available to all SMS customers, the quick risk/hazard report wizard was designed with small operators in mind. It contains key reporting categories and is designed to simplify the report creation and submission process by requiring less data.

The full SMS risk/hazard report creation wizard has been streamlined to allow customers to quickly enter data by report category and add expanded detail, where appropriate. This enables larger operators to collect additional data to perform root-cause analysis.

In the latest version of Garmin Pilot for Apple^® mobile devices, we’ve introduced the ability to display taxiway and apron/ramp closure NOTAMs on the map plus enhancements to airspace and airport depiction on the dynamic map when zooming. Raw NOTAM text is decoded, and there’s also the ability to annotate maps.

In addition, the Garmin Pilot app now supports integration with Stratux and Bad Elf GPS units. See more from v.10.7 here.

Your FltPlan.com account integrates with Garmin Pilot, seamlessly synchronizing flight plans between the two — including FltPlan.com route suggestions and optimized routing. FltPlan.com PDC and eAPIS subscribers can also transfer PDC data and submit eAPIS manifests from within the Garmin Pilot app. For more information, visit our aviation blog.

The start of a new season is a great time to freshen up your account by deleting old flight plans and updating account information such as email addresses and emergency contacts.

Deleting old flight plans can be found under Flight Planning from the Active Flight Plan List. From here, you can select individual flight plans to delete or choose to delete flight plans older than 5, 30, 60 or 90 days. You can also delete ALL old flights plans at once for quicker removal.

Keep your contact information up to date by going to Settings > User/Pilot Info. From here, you can verify your email addresses/phone numbers and make any necessary changes. To update emergency contact information, go to Settings > A/C ICAO Data and select an aircraft. The contact information here is specific to each individual aircraft.
