FltPlan’s New Management Program

IMAGEOur newest Premium Service, FltPlan Manager, now allows large flight departments, flight management companies, charter operations, and fractionals to manage multiple FltPlan.com accounts under one management control account. This allows company department heads, as well as schedulers and dispatchers, to easily see what flights are scheduled in each user's account and to make modifications when necessary.

The program can be handled in one of two ways:
1. Individual pilot accounts bundled together under one "management" account
2. Setting up aircraft specific accounts which the pilots would log in to individually

From the dashboard, administrators can quickly access individual pilot's accounts to view their flight plans, or choose to view all pilots' flight plans from their individual accounts on one easy to see screen. Whether you have five pilots or 500, FltPlan Manager allows authorized personnel to easily see what’s going on.

With FltPlan Manager, companies have better central control of their flights. Schedulers and dispatchers can look up specific pilots, tail numbers, contact information and more with the flight information being seamlessly integrated into the website and FltPlan Go apps. For those companies using option two – setting up aircraft specific accounts – this comes in handy if they have dedicated tablets in each aircraft. This allows ICAO data, Weight & Balance, and Checklists to already be entered for each plane and creates a way to standardize all aircraft in one easy–to–use program.

Top 3 Things FltPlan Users Should Do to Customize Their Account

Setting Favorites, Defaults, & Expanding Lists

If you haven’t already heard, here’s three helpful tips to make your FltPlan.com account easier to navigate. By taking advantage of setting defaults and favorites, all the FltPlan features you use most will be right there on the Main Menu Page, customized to your flight planning needs.

Setting Favorites

IMAGE Many users may not be aware that FltPlan allows you to select up to nine features to display under the Favorites tab on the Main Menu Page. You can choose the pages you use the most frequently and they'll be listed on the top left side for quick and easy access. This is especially convenient when using the FltPlan Go app on smaller devices, as all you have to do is click on the FltPlan.com tab and your favorites will be listed.

Set your Favorites by going to the Main Menu > Settings > Set Favorites. From here, choose your favorites from the drop-down menu. Click on Save Favorites when you're done.

For more information, check out our Favorites video.

Setting Defaults

IMAGE Another way to help streamline the flight planning process is to set up default settings. Once set up, the defaults will save time and make navigation easier by consistently appearing in the way you personalized them. Setting user defaults can be found under Settings > Default User Settings.

From here, you can set defaults for:

• Weather, including preferences for Winds Aloft
• iPad and Android preferences
• DCM Call Sign (if you are a Dot Com call sign user)
• Sorting your Active Flight Plan list by aircraft or by date
• Calendar options
• NavLog display
• Intermediate Fuel Stop
• ICAO Item 18 STS/Special Handling
• Main Menu (this allows you to show the expanded menu list, without clicking the button each time)
• Flight Plan Selection (IFR or VFR)
• Map Default Settings, including map layers and route options

For setting Default Map Settings, please reference our Map Builder Default Settings video.

A few minutes now could make flight planning easier down the road.

Expanding Main Menu Lists

IMAGE In addition to Favorites, you can expand the tabbed lists on your Main Menu, enabling you to view all options at a glance. Just go to Settings > Default User Settings and scroll down to Main Menu Page – (Show expanded list as default). You can select Flight Planning, Flight Tracking, and more. Once selected, the options under that heading will remain expanded, saving you time and clicks.

FltPlan Stats

For the month of August, FltPlan filed 89.1% of all N#-registered flight plans for CitationJets
(CJ1, CJ2, CJ3, CJ4 and M2).
