See All Optimized Routes at Once on FltPlan.com

IMAGEThis new, interactive feature takes FltPlan’s current optimized route listings one step further by showing all optimized routes on a single map. This is one of many collaborative features to come and combines FltPlan’s accurate and reliable routing features with Garmin’s powerful maps.

The new optimized route map displays a weather overlay and offers a zoom function along with a list of the available routes. Users can quickly see the number of times that each route has been assigned, along with the ETE and estimate fuel burn. Selecting a route is simple: just click on the desired, optimized route to add it to your flight plan.

FltPlan’s optimized routes are specific to your aircraft and wind data for the time and date of your flight.

FltTrack Now Available on Android

IMAGEFltPlan’s free flight tracking app released a few weeks ago for iPhone and iPad, is now available for Android. Pilots and families alike can track flights in real time, showing flight time, delays, estimated time of arrival and more. View flights by aircraft registration on light or dark colored, high resolution maps with the ability to overlay weather radar. For added convenience, save the aircraft you view most frequently as favorites. For Premium Flight Trackers, multiple flights can be shown at once, and there is the capability to add more than 5 favorites (free accounts are limited to 5 favorites).

Download FltTrack for Android for free today. For more information on our Premium Flight Tracking service, click here.

FltPlan Offers Full–Service International Handling with No Surprises

As part of our suite of services, FltPlan offers professional International Handling to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Unlike other handling services, with FltPlan what you’re quoted is what you pay. You won't receive additional bills over and above what you're quoted. Our professional, full–time staff is available to check all your documents for completeness, accuracy, and currency; check your insurance requirements; pay your overflight fees; meet your aircraft with trip information; and much more.

Our bilingual handling staff offers local expertise, working relationships with local governments, and personal experience flying in the region.

With our full handling service we provide:

  • APIS Services: Filing of U.S., Mexico and CARICOM APIS
  • Airspace Fees: Most countries charge for the use of their airspace. Avoid being denied entry into airspace or being detained on the ground due to unpaid fees
  • Overflight and Landing Permits: Avoid delays, fines or denial of entry into foreign airspace or airports, including Cuba for authorized flights. We obtain the required permits for you
  • Aeronautical Planning: Identify preferred routes, recommended airports of landing, and process overflight and landing permits
  • Ground Handling: Breeze through arrival formalities and have us take care of paying all local fees and arranging lodging and transportation for the crew
  • U.S. CBP Overflight Exemptions: Fly directly to your destination in the U.S. without having to stop at the border first
  • Charter Operating Permits: Be in compliance with local laws and regulations when operating a charter flight to other countries

It’s easy to go online and get a quote for your next trip. First create your flight plan, then look for the Handling message link below your international flight plan on the Active Flight Plan List. Click on the link, complete the information, and within 48 hours we will get back to you with a quote for providing complete, personalized handling for your trip

We May Need to Reach You! Keep Your Contact Information Current

There are a lot of reasons to keep the contact information in your FltPlan account up–to–date:

  • We receive frequent calls from Nav Canada because a FltPlan user has forgotten to cancel their flight plan. (At uncontrolled airports, Nav Canada starts Search and Rescue if you don’t cancel your flight plan when your flight is canceled.)
  • FltPlan gets calls from ATC looking for an aircraft that’s out of contact, relying on us to provide your contact information
  • If a flight plan can’t be filed because of incorrect data, we need to talk to the pilot to correct it
  • There might also be an emergency, a problem with your route, or you may have forgotten to close your VFR flight plan

FltPlan is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so we are available to reach out to our users, no matter what the time of day. We must have a way to reach you quickly and directly. We typically check accounts for phone numbers and sometimes wind up calling the pilot’s family, company HQ, or chief pilot in an effort to track someone down.

To keep your contact information current, please go to Main Menu > Settings > User/Pilot Info. We will also check for your emergency contact and airborne contact in your A/C ICAO data (Main Menu > Settings > A/C ICAO data).
