IMAGE2017 Pilots’ Choice Survey Results Are In

This was the eighth year for the Pilots’ Choice survey, and FltPlan pilots set a new voting record across all categories: U.S. FBO, FBO Chains, Canadian FBO, Mexican FBO, Caribbean FBO, ATC Tower, ATC Center, and U.S. Customs. There was a notable increase in voting in the ATC Tower category, a nod of appreciation to all who perform this important job.

We’ve included our Star and Ace awards again this year. Star award winners are determined using airport arrival data, votes received, and on–field competition. The Ace award recognizes the top 5 FBOs at airports with less than 4,000 arrivals per year. Congratulations to all of our winners!

The winners in each categories are:

  • Top U.S. FBO: McKinney Air Center (KTKI)
  • Top Star FBO: McKinney Air Center (KTKI)
  • Top Ace FBO: Jet Center Los Angeles (KHHR)
  • Top Canadian FBO: Skyservice (CYYZ)
  • Top Mexican FBO: CSL (MMSL)
  • Top Caribbean FBO: Million Air (TJIG)
  • Top U.S. Customer & Border Protection: St. Lucie County International (KFPR)
  • Top ATC Tower: Dallas Love Field (KDAL)
  • Top ATC Center: Fort Worth ARTCC
  • Top Large FBO Chain: Million Air
  • Top Medium FBO Chain: Sheltair
  • Top Small FBO Chain: Wilson Air Center

To see all winners in each category, check out our Pilots’ Choice Awards brochure.

FltPlan Go for Android Integrates with AOPA Flight Planner

Last month we announced FltPlan Go for iPad’s integration with AOPA. Now Android users of AOPA Flight Planner can send saved flight plan routes to FltPlan Go by emailing a copy of the NavLog to their personal email address. This integration offers the best of both worlds for AOPA members, as it’s the perfect combination of AOPA’s free flight planning and our free FltPlan Go app.

To use this feature:
1. Create your flight plan in AOPA Flight Planner.
2. Click the email button on the bottom left to email your route NavLog. Be sure to use an email address that you can access from your iPad.
3. Open the email on your Android device and tap the FltPlan Go button to open your route in the FltPlan Go app.

With this integration with AOPA, members have another free flight planning option.

Convenient List of Aircraft Performances Available on FltPlan.com

On our Edit Aircraft List page (Main Menu > Settings > Edit Aircraft List), FltPlan provides a valuable resource with our complete list of available aircraft performances. This list is a companion tool to the drop-down menu that you may already be familiar with.

The aircraft on this list are separated into categories based on the type of aircraft: Jet, Multi–Engine Turboprop, Single Engine Turboprop, Multi–Engine Piston, Single Engine Piston, and Helicopter. Find the aircraft that most closely matches yours, and then locate it in the A/C Performance drop–down list, which is sorted alphabetically.

The list of available aircraft can be accessed by clicking the Help link located directly under the A/C Performance heading or by clicking here.

FltPlan Stats

In April, FltPlan filed 92.0% of all flight plans for the Beechcraft Premier 1.
